Trying things out.

I'm trying to see how much of what I used to do when I was a lot younger I can manage to recreate today.
It's going to be a long process but to put it in a nutshell,
I believe I've lost some freedom and authenticity while acquiring technique on the way.
My aim is to be able to keep working towards technical improvement
while being able to convey things the way I used to, if not better.
Gotta work hard.

For a friend.

Probably because I move away a lot, good byes and farewells are a recurring and oftentimes unavoidable occurrence.
I've been taught that the more you want to be free, the lonelier you become.
Still, no matter what, with every single encounter I've had, I still cherish the good times we've shared regardless of the circumstances under which we've had to part ways.

Ultimately, what matters in one's life, isn't it the amount of happiness we get to feel on the journey, instead of the bad memories?
For that reason, I am truly grateful for these happy memories and as for the mistakes I might have done, I hope that I will be able to learn from them.

Animal walk-cycle: komodo dragon.

I really ought to upload my demo reel soon...

Another assignment at Gobelins. I chose to animate a Komodo dragon for the four-legged animal walk-cycle exercise

I'm pretty frustrated that I didn't see it coming when the file (originally in HD) became too heavy to work on.

That prevented me from having this animal walk through the 4 seasons.

As a result, the poor guy is stuck in winter.

I used After Effects for the final render.

No 3D here; just animated calligraphy and textures both originated from the Mediterranean North African culture.
